My specialty lies in my personal touch, hands-on approach, a shared passion for our industry, and acting as a craft. I’ve learned over the years that each artist is so unique and deserves tailor-made representation to assist in building their individual dreams.
I love to meet my actors where they are at, whether it is an artist straight out of Drama School needing that little extra guidance and advice or an award-winning actor building on their existing brand. My strategies are always built on the foundation of creating long-lasting careers through consistency in hard work and keeping the agency small to eliminate in-house competition, securing more opportunities that equal more work.
I’m a qualified actor myself, formally trained in acting for Camera, Multicam, Live performance, Presenting, and Voice work. These qualifications prove to be handy skills to assist me in spotting potential in new artists. It gives me the knowledge to technically advise, direct and tweak casting and audition tapes but also assist in direction to improve listening and reacting as well as timing and pacing of actor’s acting techniques. I can talk my actor’s “language” and relate first hand to their day-to-day ups and downs of being a freelance professional actor in our growing yet challenging industry.
Due to my extensive on-set experience in television, screen, stage, presenting, and voice work, I’m able to give advice and honest guidance I wish I received when I started off my acting career, many years ago. I was blessed to star in some amazing local and international TV series, telanovas, and feature films such as Kaalgat Karel, a lead role in the hit TV series “Danz”, a 13-part youth drama for Kyknet (Gambit films), Suidooster (Kyknet), Arendsvlei (Kyknet), Die Sentrum (SABC), Projek Dina (Kyknet), Orion (Based on a Deon Meyer Book – M-NET), The Runaway (Sky), Strike Back (Cinemax), House Party (Warnerbros), Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventures (Warnerbros) and Stokvel (SABC), to name a few. I was also blessed to book a presenting gig on God TV, and several TV commercials, local and international for clients such as Virgin Active, Budweiser, Kinder Riegel, New Balance, Sarie, Nivea, US Cellular, Sasol, Capfin and Old Brown Cherry. I was also the Ackermans’s voice for radio and in-store advertising, in SA and Namibia for several years.
My natural artistic flair and understanding of the actor’s process of finding relatable emotions and motivations to capture the essence of a character or rather find the character inside of themselves, ables me to envision actors in multiple roles without consistently typecasting them. Keeping the actor’s roles versatile, challenges the actor’s skills and ultimately working the acting muscles regularly. This enables my actors to hit the “sweet spot” as they say, when it comes to readiness meets opportunity. I encourage my actors to always partake in accent courses, join an improv group, take singing lessons and additional acting courses to always keep growing and improving.
Combining the above-mentioned skills, I also have the knowledge and over 15 years of experience as an actor’s agent and manager to negotiate the best possible deals, rates & opportunities and secure contracts with the artists’ absolute best interests at heart. I’m a proud member of The PMA and love to stay in the know of all the latest developments in our industry. Fighting the good fight daily to stand up for our artists’ rights and better rates.
I believe that if an agent doesn’t truly believe in an artist, they simply don’t deserve that artist. That’s why I only represent artists I truly believe in.
My passion is to nurture and support young talent to their full potential or even better, award-winning status.

I Artist Management (pronounced “i, am”) is a professional actor and voice artist agency, situated in Cape Town, South Africa and we represent some of our country’s best established and upcoming actors and voice artists in our film industry. I Am is a proud member of the PMA (Personal Managers Association) and we are briefed by all casting directors for Film, TV Series, Telanovas, Soapies, Theatre, Presenting, Commercial and Voice work by all our industry casting directors, ad agencies, and production companies.
I AM specialises in finding the best talent with the most potential and building them up to become successful, working actors and for some, even award-winning actors.
We only represent actors we truly believe in and we support them, advise them, and pray for them, every step of the way.
I AM started with a heavenly whisper and it is no wonder His name is on the door! We believe in working as if we are working for Him! Our agent and owner, Charlene Wolmarans (aka, Agent C), has a personal passion for acting and her artists and sees her work as a calling rather than just a job. She believes in putting in the hard work, sharing information with actors she wishes someone shared with her when she started off her personal acting career after studying acting herself and embracing the artists’ strengths but also advising truthfully on areas needing improvement, to ultimately assist and journey with each actor to reach their full potential.
We believe in a personal relationship with each artist and giving the best and unique suitable management for each individual need. Each artist is different and each dream and goal is different. We love to embrace those differences by meeting each actor where they are at, whether it is an artist fresh out of Drama School or an established artist wanting to build on their existing brand and career.
We believe in an open and honest book policy in all our dealings on our artist’s behalf and always negotiate the utmost best possible rates.
At I AM the pool of actors are kept small to eliminate in-house competition and assist us in building successful acting careers for each artist as they get to cast for each suitable role and casting available that ultimately betters their chances of being seen for a job. I AM Admin is handled by the administrative team. That enables I AM artists to deal with the agent directly because we believe, no one will work harder for you than the agent herself.
I AM was established in 2016 and has built many successful, award-winning acting careers since the doors opened. It is our absolute pleasure and passion to see our artists perform and do what they love. It is our privilege to work for you whether it is to find the best suitable talent for your project or to be your agent and manager building on your big dream.
